Never has been, never will be!
Did you know, a majority percentage of the donations given to mega churches; Internet, TV, and Radio personalities go toward paying employee salaries? No, your donations do NOT feed the poor or take care of the needy. The money does however, in most cases, go toward providing “the leaders” a much more lavish lifestyle.
That’s right, we are essentially paying these preachers and their employees to keep their jobs. In the same way, we provide a financial benefit to pop-stars and “influencers” by purchasing their frivolous merchandise, mimicking their wasteful spending, and by adhering to their moronic ideology. None of this is furthering the Kingdom of God on Earth. Though, it does have everything to do with “growing the business”.
Listen… when Christianity went to the East, it became Mysticism. When Christianity went to the West, it became Big Business. If you do not know what that means, you should not be a church leader.
The Business of Religion (including Christianity) will never change. It has always been about the Benjamin’s, baby! It’s Gangsta!
That being said, there is no doubt the Lord Jesus sees your generosity, love, and kindness when you donate to organizations close to your heart. There is nothing wrong with being charitable. Charity, in Love, is one of the keys to God’s Kingdom. Another key, however, is Honesty… is the organization you are donating to being honest with its finances?
Did you know… Every church in the United States of America is required to provide the government with an Employee ID number (EID)? Employee’s???? What do you mean “Employee’s”???
I thought we were performing the work of God as prescribed by the Gospel message laid out in the bible? Why am I, as an alleged disciple of Christ, given an employee ID number from the Beast systems we are told is anti-Christ??
What a strange thing we have in our “Christian” country.
If I want to start a new church in the USA, I have to provide the government my approved documentation. And, if I do NOT receive the GOV’s 501(c)(3) status, and I choose to subsequently practice tithing on God’s standards (give freely and receive freely)… well then, the IRS will send the FBI into my church house, or my place of business, slap the handcuffs on me and place me in custody until the $$$ thing is figured out. This is real. Phil Walls is not making this shit up. It always comes back to the MONEY. Ironically, Jesus said this would happen. But, hey… who’s paying attention…
Do we truly believe the United States of America is a “Christian Nation”?
Do we truly believe this nation was founded on “Christian principles”?
Do we truly believe this is “One Nation Under God?”
Would God be pleased with this nation?

The biblical fact remains. You cannot simply give me, or someone else, a portion of your money and expect to “receive God’s blessing” as some form of “tithing” or donation.
That is NOT what tithing is about! And preachers who are begging for “donations” by-and-large typically do not deserve them. Sorry to say, it’s a fact!
The personal blessing you will receive from helping others because you desire to do good works, does not stem from you blindly giving a portion of your money to a corporate ministry via the internet, radio, or television in hopes that their ministry will do good works on your behalf, No!
It is YOU! YOU are the person to deploy grace and mercy for those in need!
It is YOUR duty as a Christian to go out into the world and do good unto others. That responsibility does not belong to anyone other than you. It does not belong to me, nor to your favorite friendly televangelist. I have my own responsibilities, as do you!
False teachers love the appearance of godliness. They will go to great lengths to show you all the good works being done in their global ministries. They will tell you that if you contribute to their mission, you will receive God’s blessings… as if your responsibility of helping others belongs to them. These shameless and boastful actors have drifted far from Christ’s teachings while simultaneously lining their own pockets.“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.” (Matthew 6:2; NIV)
If you find a ministry that is performing good works and you want to join their mission, you of course have every right to do that out of the kindness of your own heart. But, for the love of Christ… stop giving money to preachers who are shamelessly begging for it, or guilt tripping you into helping their ministries “stay on the air”.
Beware of preachers who require your donations as some form of Church Doctrine. (See chapter “Who Forgot the Second Zero“)
Sadly, a large number of these “Christians” are lairs, speaking heresy and spreading a denominational bias, pop-culture Christ for profit across the airwaves.
If your desire is to do good works by helping the poor and needy; and to preach the Gospel of Salvation in Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth… then by God in heaven …it is time for You to go out and get started.
